Membership of The Old Vine Conference is an impactful way to safeguard global old vine heritage, and its priceless ecological and cultural value. Giacomo Borgogno: Guardians of Barolo’s Old Vines
Founded in 1761 by Bartolomeo Borgogno, a farmer with vision ahead of the times, Giacomo Borgogno is Barolo’s most historic winery—an enduring symbol of tradition with a bold eye toward the future in the heart of Le Langhe. For over 260 years, Borgogno has remained faithful to its roots, producing wines with time-honored practices such as fermentation in concrete tanks and aging in large Slavonian oak barrels. Today, the winery stewards 52 hectares of vineyards across Barolo, La Morra, Alba, the Colli Tortonesi, and Castino, all cultivated organically and sustainably.
Pieve di Campoli:Preserving the Past, Shaping the Future in Chianti Classico
In the heart of Chianti Classico, just south of Florence, Pieve di Campoli is quietly building a reputation grounded in authenticity, sustainability, and deep respect for heritage vineyards. The estate spans 50 hectares under vine and produces approximately 60,000 bottles annually—but its most compelling story lies in a single 15-hectare plot of old vines planted in 1974.

Situated in the heart of Italy’s Piedmont region, Fontanafredda is a cornerstone of Barolo’s rich history. Established in 1858 by King Vittorio Emanuele II as a gift to his beloved Rosa Vercellana, affectionately known as “La Bela Rusin,” the estate has evolved into a symbol of enduring legacy and innovation in winemaking.

Textura Wines, Portugal
In the Dão region, on the slopes of Serra da Estrela, Textura Wines is building a new legacy rooted in tradition, respect for nature, and the preservation of Portugal’s viticultural heritage. Founded in 2018 as a family project by Marcelo Araujo and Patricia Berardi, Textura Wines brings together 30 hectares of vineyards across nine plots in Vila Nova de Tazem and Penalva do Castelo.
