Quinta da Côrte, Douro Valley, Portugal

In the heart of the Douro Valley’s Cima Corgo sub-region, Quinta da Côrte stands as a true expression of time, tradition, and landscape. Part of the Vignobles Austruy collection, the estate’s roots trace back to the early 19th century, with vineyard records dating to 1814.

Covering 26 hectares, Quinta da Côrte is entirely composed of old vines, half of which are between 80 and 100 years old, while the youngest are over 40 years. Among its most prized parcels is Plot 505, a rare post-phylloxera vineyard, standing as a living testament to the Douro’s wine making legacy, now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The estate’s approach is guided by respect for the land and the vineyards' natural balance. Farming practices work in harmony with the environment, and winemaking follows a low-intervention path to preserve the depth, structure, and complexity that mature vines bring.

Since 2013, Quinta da Côrte has been producing both DOC Douro and Port wines under its own name, reconnecting with its historic identity while bringing new life to a centuries-old tradition.

At Quinta da Côrte, the old vines are not just part of history — they are the foundation of everything the estate builds for the future.
