Old Vine Conference Regional Ambassadors
Our Regional Ambassadors are prominent advocates for old vine heritage and wines. They have a long-standing interest in raising the profile and value of old vine heritage. They include viticulturists, enologists, wine writers, Masters of Wine and marketers.
What they do
Regional Ambassadors play a guiding role in the organisation and actively promote Old Vine Conference events, causes and projects. They identify key old vine projects and local old vine heroes that deserve highlighting and assistance. They create content to educate the global audience about old vines and share content generated by colleagues with their network of trade, media and wine connoisseurs. They liaise with the Conference Content Committee on potential speakers and themes for conferences. They suggest old vine wines for inclusion in tastings. They help increase the base of members and sponsors. They network with each other. They advocate on behalf of Old Vines.
What is required
OVC Regional Ambassadors are volunteers that have a genuine engagement with our aims and are well-connected and experienced in the wine industry with good and credible knowledge of viti, vini and old vines in their area. OVC RAs know their region well, and have the respect and trust of the producers and other stakeholders there. They support and promote the OVC harmoniously as part of their ‘day job’. Some OVC RAs actively promote membership of the OVC to their winery and trade contacts for which we offer an honorarium.
