Mount Pleasant is the guardian of some of Australia’s most historic heritage vineyards. Maurice O’Shea, who is widely recognised for setting the standard for modern Australian winemaking, founded Mount Pleasant in 1921.

For 100 years, Mount Pleasant has produced iconic, elegant and expressive wines championing the fruit and individual character of four unique vineyard sites. Their rare ancestral vines include some of the oldest clone plantings in the country and their Old Hill vineyard (pictured above), while best known for Shiraz, is the oldest Pinot Noir vineyard in Australia.

Today the winery’s commitment to preserving and nurturing these historic vineyard sites is in the hands of Adrian Sparks, only the fifth Chief Winemaker in Mount Pleasant’s long history.
