OVC Community Workshop: Old Vines & Wildfires

This summer has seen devastating wildfires across many countries, and there are several instances of vineyards acting as firebreaks. Our Research adviser Dr. Adrianna Catena and business partner Gearoid Lane from Bodega El Reventón in the Sierra de Gredos will be speaking about their experience this summer when the DO Gredos was hit by one of Spain's worst ever wildfires. They will be joined by Norrel Robertson MW from member El Escocés Volante who almost lost his 1920 Marzolin vineyard in Aragón, Spain in 2022. We'll be touching upon themes of rural depopulation and the importance of maintaining vineyards.
