Introducing Agatha - Our Membership Manager

Q: Welcome to The Old Vine Conference! What excites you most about joining the team?

Thank you! It is an opportunity to interact with a highly respected and diverse group of professionals. I'm looking forward to learning from everyone's experience and expertise, especially when it comes to old vines, wine regions, producers and the heritage they represent.

Q: What will your day-to-day focus be as Membership Manager?

Aside from continuing the great work already being done, my focus will be on giving both new and existing members opportunities to showcase their projects, engage with potential new members, and continue providing a platform for knowledge sharing. Ultimately, contributing to the expansion and impact of the Old Vine Conference.

Q: What drew you to The Old Vine Conference in particular?

The Old Vine Conference represents a community deeply connected to heritage, shared values and ethically produced wines, an area I’ve been passionate about for many years.

The craft of winemaking is wonderfully complex, and protecting heritage vines through education, information-sharing, and community engagement aligns perfectly with my values. For all these reasons, I’m embracing this opportunity with both hands.

Q: Tell us a bit about your background - what experience do you bring to the role?

My corporate experience has equipped me to work efficiently in operational roles, using a methodical and structured approach. I’m able to navigate a wide range of scenarios, personalities, challenges, and environments, which has proven invaluable in every role I've taken on.

Alongside my position with OVC, I run a project exploring ethically produced wines by spotlighting producers, regions, and professionals committed to social responsibility and environmentally conscious practices.

In 2019, I also co-founded a start-up at a time when very few people were speaking openly about sustainability in wine. Since then, the concept has expanded considerably, and that early work gave me clear insight into who is genuinely committed to their values.

With all this experience, I feel our worlds naturally meet. I’m able to approach this role with a more seasoned and pragmatic perspective, and I genuinely believe there is great potential for all of us to join forces and amplify impact.

Q: Do you have a favourite old-vine wine or region?

I have a few - Piedmont, Greece, Lebanon, Tuscany and Bordeaux .....

Q: What’s something our community might be surprised to learn about you?

Maybe they will be surprised to know that I have a great ability to remember aroma clusters… but not where I left my keys. Priorities and a hint of selective memory, I would say....!

Q: When you’re not immersed in the world of wine and members, how do you unwind?

You’ll find me cooking or dancing, hosting friends, blind tasting, or (quite possibly) tucked into a corner at 67 Pall Mall with a glass in hand.
